I am running for Sheriff again because the people of Broward County deserve a Sheriff who does more than just see the changes that need to be made in order to bring about positive relations between the community and the Sheriff’s Office as a whole. It’s time to stop talking about change and make change. The protection of our community has and always will be my top priority. The most precious resource in the County is the people who live, visit, and work here. The law enforcement industry has made little change during the past 50 years. We must stop practicing 20th century philosophies, training and hiring. Today’s society will not be policed as the baby-boomer. 21st century best practices must be adopted to change how the community perceives law enforcement. I have had the opportunity to train community and law enforcement entities across this nation in community policing and community relationship building, in addition to delivering law enforcement services in disadvantaged communities. I possess an MBA with a specialty in Human Resource Management and a BA degree in Management. I am an author of several youth oriented programs, Project First Class Male, MISTER and FOAM. Furthermore, I was an intricate part of the BSO reentry program during the early 90’s. As your next Sheriff I will assure safety will not come second to anything.
